Ryan is  the grandson to a master gunsmith who specialized in primarily Wimchester repeating arms. From refinishing and hot bluing, to cutting blanks of high grade walnut and hand fitting and refinishing them, A very tedious and time consuming task if anyone has ever done one by hand. I can attest to this as it is not a fast process if done correctly! Obviously repairs of said firearms and any and all other cowboy actions were included in the genre. My Father was also an U.S. Olympic Team Free Pistol at one point but shot free pistol for many many years prior and after as well as taught classes for self defense to women, the F.B.I. as well as taught a Top Gun Air Gun for kids for a few years, He was an NRA instructor and obviously and gunsmith as well. Both my Grandfather and Father were both served in the military making all three of us veterans as well. 

   Here at Hess Gun Werks LLC we still practice the art of gunsmithing in a traditional sense. We hand fit all parts, no shortcuts with powertools like some shops do.
